Last week, our 1st graders in Mrs. Paolini's class used their engineering skills to design, plan, and build their own hats. Students were so excited that they begged Mrs. Paolini to let them wear their creations to the library during their weekly visit with Mrs. Sullivan, who loved asking about each special design. Today at dismissal, we caught a sweet moment between Ms. Macias & a first-grade friend. What is normally a very fast paced & at times can be a hectic part of the day Ms. Macias stopped & took a few minutes to teach a friend how to tie his shoes. She didn't have to do this, but she saw a window of opportunity & grasped the chance to teach someone a skill he'll use for the rest of his life.
