This afternoon, Mrs. Sullivan got to do some prize patrolling in various classrooms throughout the building. Each month, students who read at least 300 minutes in Beanstack receive a certificate and a trinket. Mrs. Sullivan ordered Benny the Beanstack plushies for students who completed the January "Read with Benny" challenge and got to deliver those to students today. We are so proud of our little Wolves who are finally starting to log their minutes like the big Wolves do, and she wanted to share just a few pictures of their smiling faces. Remember, Beanstack is accessible to all Wilder students via Clever. Yesterday, 4th grader Caleb Joseph represented Wilder at the district spelling bee at Freedom Field, and we are so proud of his efforts. There were 7 rounds, and Caleb reached round 6 before being eliminated. Way to go, Caleb! This past weekend, two of our Wilder Wolves competed in the Battle of the Bayou in Hitchcock, representing the SCHS FFA and taking top prize. Rosie, a 3rd grader and her Polish Buck rabbit, Pandy, placed 1st and took best of breed, and 4th grade sister Madilyn took 2nd place with her Netherland Dwarf Buck. When we think about school, we often think of teachers and students, but there’s a quiet force in the building making sure students are actually okay enough to learn: The School Counselor. School counselors are the ultimate multitaskers. On any given day, they are:

The Emotional Anchor: Helping a student navigate a tough morning or a mental health crisis.
The Path-Finder: Guiding seniors through the maze of college apps and career dreams.
The Bridge Builders: Connecting parents, teachers, and students to make sure nobody falls through the cracks.
The Conflict Resolvers: Teaching the life skills that aren't found in a math 101 syllabus.

Education isn’t just about grades; it’s about growing into a whole person. Counselors provide the safety net that allows students to take risks, fail, and get back up again. Our 5th graders are working hard this morning, taking their Jr. High Math MAP test in the cafeteria.
