Each year at the start of the school year, our students and teachers create their classroom social contracts together. A social contract is a student-designed agreement that replaces traditional, teacher-imposed classroom rules with mutual, value-based expectations. Instead of a list of forbidden behaviors written by an authority figure, it's a living document built entirely from student responses to four core questions. The Four Core Questions that students and teachers respond to are: How do you want to be treated by the teacher? How do you want to be treated by each other? How do you think the teacher wants to be treated by you? How do we handle conflict or disagreements? If you visited the Book Bus this summer and still have their books at home, please bring them back to school and give them to Mrs. Sullivan or Mrs. Alex in the library, and they'll send them back for you. This morning, Mrs. Sullivan announced our summer reading winners. In total, 56 students completed the challenge of reading 600 minutes, and over 200 logged at least once over the summer. OurWilder Wolves logged 57,526 minutes in Beanstack, which is outstanding! We want to congratulate our top 10 summer readers, celebrate our top 2 readers for winning a squishy of their own, and we want to acknowledge our final 12 students for completing the summer reading challenge before school began. Remember, each month Mrs. Sullivan rewards students who complete the monthly Beanstack reading challenge, and our August challenge is in full swing. Today's transition day was outstanding! We were surprised by a visit from Pearland Mayor Quentin Wiltz. The Mayor welcomed students, parents, faculty, and staff. We can't wait for our students to meet their teachers for the upcoming school year. Class assignments will be released on Monday, August 10th at 3:00 PM in Skyward, and our Meet the Teacher event will follow from 4:30-6:00. Meet the Teacher is a come-and-go event, so no need to stay the entire time.
