Welcome to McNair!

Carolon and I have 3 grown children, 16 grandchildren, and highly prize family time! We are involved in church and have always been involved in the communities where we have lived. You could say "Faith and family are our core!"

I enjoy traveling, reading and writing, and playing sports. I tend to be the proverbial optimist who sees the "glass half full." And I embrace a life principle that believes success is found in the pursuit and achievement of goals worth attaining.

I also believe that while skills can be developed, and knowledge gained, excellence is a commitment of the heart. At McNair, that commitment is a treasured value and I want to fan that flame in our Eagle community.

I am so honored to be in my 3rd year at McNair, which I believe is a community second to none with talented students, involved parents, and dedicated teachers and staff.

At heart, I am a teacher and a servant, and look forward to being available to our Eagles this year!

Greetings McNair Family!

I would like to take the opportunity to welcome you and your family to Dr. Ronald E. McNair Junior High School if your child is new to our campus. If your child is returning, I say, "Welcome back!" I look forward to working with you.

It is an honor and privilege to serve as the assistant principal of students whose last names start with the letters L-Z, however, it is one of my priorities to ensure that everyone whom I interact with knows that I am here to serve them.

This is my seventeenth year in education. I have worked as a paraprofessional, taught at the elementary and junior high levels, and was a junior high school assistant principal before coming to McNair Junior High School.

I have two sons: Aidan and Jose. I graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I am also a graduate of the University of Saint Thomas, where I earned my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. I will be pursuing my Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Houston-Clear Lake in the near future.

I have always loved working in the field of education and this has been my dream since I was a child. I could best be described as a firm, fair, and consistent leader who does whatever it takes to make the campus a great place for all stakeholders. I pride myself on developing and strengthening great relationships with students, staff, and families and holding them accountable to ensure that all students are provided a quality education filled with wisdom, morality, and creativity; all staff members enjoy being valued members of the campus, and the community views the campus as the key to success. I make data-driven and data-informed decisions with what is in the best interest of students, the campus, and the district.

Outside of school, I love playing and attending sporting events, hanging out with my family and friends, listening to Christian music, volunteering at my church, and just doing things outside. I am a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. Go Cowboys!!!

Junior High is a time of excitement, wonder, exploration, and discovery. Through a variety of engaging activities, your child will work hard to prepare for success. I look forward to being a vital contributor to the success of our campus.

With Eagle Pride!
