Advanced Academics

The goal of our Advanced Academics/Gifted and Talented program is to provide a differentiated, enriched academic environment for students with advanced learning abilities in order to broaden their knowledge, skills, and experiences. We strive to put an emphasis on developing independent, self-directed learners by encouraging and supporting in-depth learning and divergent and creative thinking.

Cultivating relationships | Strengthening critical thinking skills | Providing greater depth and complexity | Differentiating learning experiences to encourage lifelong learning

Welcome Eagles,

I am excited to begin this year as your Advanced Academics Specialist. I have been at McNair since we opened our doors in 2018. I am excited to facilitate the growth and development of our future leaders.

My wonderful undergrad experience was completed at Texas Southern University and I completed my Masters with the University of Texas at Arlington in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. I have taught grades 6 through 8 of ELA and Humanities; however, Humanities is my favorite by far.

I will service our campus as the M.A.P. Coordinator, G.T. Specialist, NJHS sponsor, and U.I.L. Coordinator.
