As we near November, Alvin ISD is preparing to give thanks in a big way with our second annual Alvin ISD Serves month.
Throughout the entire month of November, each AISD campus and department will be completing different community service projects to give thanks to the community that supports the district day-in, and day-out.
“Last year's inaugural Alvin ISD Serves month was incredibly inspiring and we can't wait to see the projects our schools and staff members complete around the community," Superintendent Carol Nelson said.
Alvin ISD campuses are currently brainstorming ideas and needs for their immediate school community.
"Whether it's picking up trash in the park, writing letters of appreciation, or gathering food for those who may need it, we want to ensure our students understand the importance of community service," Nelson said.
Much like last year, when you see a set of neon-green shirts around the community, that's an Alvin ISD group serving the community.
If you have a specific need or an idea for a community service project, contact your local Alvin ISD school.
