Mission and Purpose

Shadow Creek Sapphires and Jewels JV Dance Team is committed to representing Shadow Creek High School with the highest caliber of school spirit, personal integrity, and dance talent through their high standards of excellence and tradition of teamwork. The Gems of Alvin ISD are well-known for supporting Shadow Creek High School sports, activities, clubs, and organizations within our community while upholding the standards and expectations of all Shadow Creek High school students through our commitment, dedication, responsibility, and most important, discipline.

Monique Jordan is a San Antonio native who is a graduate of James Madison High School. She holds a B.A. in Dance from Sam Houston State University and an M.Ed in Digital Learning and Leading as well as a Principal Certificate from Lamar University. In her career as a dance educator, she has held positions as an elementary dance teacher and high school drill team director in both the Houston and Dallas areas. She is a lead camp instructor and judge for MA Dance.

Monique currently serves as a 2nd Vice President of the Texas Dance Educators' Association and is a passionate advocate for the expansion of dance programs in schools throughout the state.

Delanah Freeman

Assistant Dance Director

Mrs. Freeman began her dance career as a Dance 1 student at Ridge Point High School. Her love and passion for dance grew after trying out for the Royals Dance Team. In her years on the team, she serves as a founding member, junior lieutenant and captain.

After graduation, Mrs. Freeman joined the MA Dance Company and traveled the world as a teacher, choreographer and clinic director. She is a graduate of Sam Houston State University (Eat 'Em Up Kats!) and a proud alumnae of the 13-time National Champion Orange Pride Dance Team. Upon graduating, Mrs. Freeman cheered for the Houston Texan Cheerleaders Organization and served as the George Bush High School Illusions Assistant and Head Director.

Mrs. Freeman has an intensely competitive spirit and an equally strong passion for dance and sharing with the next generation! She is supported by her husband, Kevin, daughter, Klover, her parents and her three older sisters.

Mrs. Freeman is extremely excited to be joining the Shadow Creek family and working alongside Ms. Jordan.
