The Brazoria County Library System is excited to announce the permanent elimination of overdue fines on traditional library materials. These include books, audiobooks and DVDs. Non-traditional materials, including hotspots and items from the Library of Things collection (cake pans, games, carpet cleaners, shop vac, etc.), will still accumulate overdue fines. Patrons are still responsible for charges regarding damage to items, the replacement cost for lost items, cleaning or processing fees, and collection agency charges. The library hopes this initiative will remove barriers to access and reinforce our mission to serve the entire community with equity and openness.

For their last writing unit, Mrs. Dickerson's first graders wrote letters to Mrs. Welker's first graders at Alvin Elementary, and they wrote letters back.
