Class Overview (All except Theatre Production)

Welcome to theatre at Fairview Junior High! Throughout this school year, we are going to cover a lot of different theatre topics, including but not limited to:

• Performance (speaking or acting in front of others.)

• Production (lights, sound, stage management, etc.)

• Theatre History (Shakespeare, Broadway, Greek Theatre etc.)

• Theatre Analysis (scenes, plays, musicals, etc.)

• Etiquette (how to behave during a performance.)

Class Overview (Theatre Production)

This advanced class is responsible for producing theatre. Throughout this school year, we are going to help produce our various mainstage productions, as well as practice the proper steps to completing a production by directing, acting, and participating in technical theatre.

• Acting (memorize, rehearse, and perform characters in the plays.)

• Technical Theatre (operate lights, sound, manage the stage, help with costumes & props, etc.)
