🏛️ Mr. Nuetzmann is visiting the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Along with the many restoration projects underway, one of the most unique attractions is a LEGO® replica of the cathedral. When finished, it will stand more than 8 feet tall, stretch 13 feet long, and be built with over 500,000 LEGO bricks. What an incredible project! 🧱

Ms. Sistrunk has had an unforgettable summer traveling! ✈️🌍 She traveled to London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, and San Miguel de Allende, taking in the sights, making lasting memories, and enjoying lots of delicious food along the way. What an incredible summer adventure! ☀️

Jaguars on Break ☀️😎
Jackson is currently a solid gray belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Renzo Gracie Pearland Academy and has competed in four local competitions this summer. On August 22, he’ll travel to Las Vegas to compete in the inaugural UFC BJJ Opens tournament, with Professor "Lucky" Lauren Murphy, former UFC Flyweight contender, in his corner. Jackson has been training relentlessly to prepare.
He’s also learning the value of community outreach through this fundraising journey. By connecting with teammates, coaches, family, and supporters, he’s learning how important it is to ask for help, share his story, and build relationships with the people around him. It’s teaching him that being part of a community means showing up, giving back, and working together toward something bigger than yourself.
Way to go Jackson! Your Jeter family is so proud of you! 🐾💙💛

Hello, Jaguars! My name is Derrick Weiss, but you can call me Coach Weiss. I am thrilled to join the Don Jeter Elementary family as your new Physical Education Teacher!
Here is a little bit about me:
My Background: I'm originally from Wisconsin and graduated from Winona State University. Before teaching, I was a Sports Performance Coach specializing in speed, agility, and strength training. I bring that same passion for discipline and movement into the gym every day.
New to Alvin: After living in the Houston area for years, I recently married my wife and moved from Cypress to Alvin. We love this community and are so excited to plant our roots here!
Outside the Gym: I love anything outdoors—hunting, fishing, and golfing. I am a die-hard fan of the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Milwaukee Bucks. On weekends, you'll find me at the ball fields cheering on my kids in select baseball and softball.
My Experience: I have four years of PE experience and love building programs. In the past, I've launched school golf, baseball, and bowling teams. I can't wait to see what new athletic opportunities we can bring to Don Jeter!
My goal is simple: to inspire a lifelong love of fitness, teamwork, and healthy living in every Jaguar I coach. Let's have an amazing school year!
