Today, we are thrilled to announce and celebrate the exceptional achievements of two outstanding individuals at Walt Disney Elementary – Lashel Rowton, who has been named Teacher of the Year, and Carley Saladino, our Paraprofessional of the Year.
Lashel Rowton has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to providing enriching and inspiring learning/skill environments for ALL of our students. Her passion for WDE, coupled with her patient and caring nature, has left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of those she has touched. We are confident that Lashel will serve as an exemplary representative of Walt Disney Elementary as our Teacher of the Year.
Similarly, Carley Saladino's dedication and invaluable support in her role as a paraprofessional/registrar have not gone unnoticed. Carley's unwavering commitment to the success of our students AND teachers has earned her the well-deserved title of Paraprofessional of the Year.
Both Lashel and Carley embody the values and spirit of Walt Disney Elementary. Their kindness, patience, and exceptional teamwork have contributed significantly to the positive atmosphere at our school. We are confident that they will serve as outstanding representatives, not only for our school but for the ALVIN ISD community.

Wildcat Village 2023
Mrs. Clawson, our Wildcat librarian, challenged students to help create a winter village to go around the Christmas tree as part of the theme for lessons in the library for December. The towns turned out great! #AlvinISD
Books have been delivered! To end our Alvin Serves project to gather and deliver books to the little libraries of Alvin, Mrs. Clawson delivered books to many of the locations in Alvin. There were also some designated for the AISD Book Bus. To make this project even better, Mrs. Clawson partnered with Rae Longest of Rae's Reads in Alvin to provide sets of books for her homeschool program! #AlvinISD #AlvinISDServes
