This week our selected First Chapter Friday Book Club Meeting was the text, Mercy Watson by Kate DiCamillo. There are several books in the series, so as we read a few chapters our goal is to get students hooked on reading the rest of the book and books in the series. Our students have had the opportunity to read Texas 2x2's, Trailblazers and Texas Bluebonnets for our Reading Challenge 23-24 school year. Students that read all the books in their category and turn in their completed reading log packet by April 26th will be invited to an Ice Cream Social in May.
Alvin ISD is excited for our students and staff members to witness the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th. Precautions are being taken and glasses are being provided for every student and staff member. Campuses are prepared to allow students to safely observe the event during the school day.
