My name is Christy Kennard, and I am thrilled to serve as the Principal of Iowa Colony Junior High! I am passionate about investing into students both academically and socially. During our inaugural year, we will focus on our four core values. In the spirit of the ram, known for its strength, tenacity, and leadership, we challenge all Iowa Colony Trailblazers to be respectful, accountable, mindful, and selfless. 

This marks my tenth year in Alvin ISD, and fourteenth year in public education. I began my career in Cy-Fair ISD as a junior high math teacher and a 1st grade teacher. In 2014, I joined Alvin ISD as a teacher at the opening of Dr. James Red Duke Elementary. Transitioning to Alvin High School In 2016, I spent three years as an ESL teacher before joining their administration team as an Assistant Principal. In 2023, I became the Associate Principal at Manvel High School. 

I have been married to my husband, Brandon, for twenty-four years. We have five children ranging in age from 22 to 15, all of whom have grown up in Alvin ISD. Three are in college, and two are students at Manvel High School. Some of my favorite things include reading, baking, and serving in my church.
