Greetings Trailblazer Family!
I believe that each day, students have a new opportunity to achieve greatness and those that guide and support them have fresh opportunities to make a difference in their lives.
I am Dion Eison and I was born to Shirley and Dave Eison in San Francisco, California on October 17, 1978. I grew up just minutes away from San Francisco, in a city called Daly City. I have 2 brothers Cortney (Dublin, California) and Julian (San Francisco, California). My beautiful wife Sysvonia is a paralegal and fitness instructor and we have been married for 21 years. We have 3 amazing children: Jasiah (24), Jayde (18), and Jaleigh (11). I love to watch & play basketball, watch documentaries, make music and DJ.
My Associate Degree in General Studies is from City College of San Francisco (1998) and I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Morris Brown College (2002). I graduated from Central Michigan University with a Master’s Degree in Administration (2008), I earned an Education Specialist Degree from Walden University (2011), and lastly I completed my Principal Licensure at Lamar University (2023).
I come to Iowa Colony Junior High from Jackie Doucet Caffey Junior High School where I began my administrative experience. I also taught 4th and 5th grade math and science at Savannah Lakes Elementary School. This is my 6th year in Alvin ISD. I also taught 5th grade math in Alief ISD, at Miller Intermediate School. I had the amazing opportunity to teach 5th grade math in Abu Dhabi, The United Arab Emirates and Atlanta, Georgia, where I began my teaching career.
Some of my favorite foods are Jamaican, Mexican, BBQ, and Chinese! I recently achieved the dream of becoming an assistant principal and look forward to an amazing school year with you and the Iowa Colony Trailblazer Family!
