What is an Innovative Grant: An Innovative Grant is designed to support creative and impactful projects that go beyond traditional classroom methods to enhance student learning. These grants encourage educators to implement new ideas that inspire, engage, and transform students’ educational experiences, aligning with the district's goals and standards.

Grant Application Process & Guidelines

Applications OPEN: November 1, 2024

Applications CLOSE: January 15, 2025 (No extension will be granted)

DETAILS

  • Award Details: Up to $1,000

  • Announcement: Recipients will be recognized during the Alvin ISD Winner's Wagon Celebration

  • Funding Availability: Funds available after July 1, 2025

  • Purpose : To drive creativity and innovative learning by making learning exciting and engaging for all students.

HOW TO APPLY

  • Click "Apply" button located in bottom right corner

  • Click "Sign In With Your Institution" to log in with your Alvin ISD Google account

  • Submission Requirements:

    • Online application

    • Grant Budget form

    • Principal Approval form

    • Technology Approval form (Required for Technology-Related Requests) DUE TO TECHNOLOGY BY: January 9, 2025

    • Continuation Grant Evaluation Form (Fill out ONLY if you were a recipient of last year's Alvin ISD Education Foundation Innovative Grant and wish to continue the grant for the upcoming school year.)

GRANT COMPLIANCE

  • Provide the Alvin ISD Education Foundation with:

    • Photo Op - check presentation AND 7 photos of grant in action

    • Communication - we request to be recognized and tagged in all social media posts and district communications to parents and community partners

    • Video - 1-2 minute video to be sent to the Foundation by December 15 of awarded year stating how the Foundation has been beneficial to your project

  • Be prepared to demonstrate the grant in action at a scheduled Alvin ISD Education Foundation board meeting

  • Commit to sharing your grant process experience at the new employee orientation for the upcoming school year

  • Notify the Foundation if you transfer to another campus or if you leave Alvin ISD

    • Funded grants may be transferred between campuses with approval from both campus principals.

    • Grant recipients leaving Alvin ISD forfeit funds, grants, and any purchased materials.

GUIDELINES

  • Use the awarded funds for the purposes intended

  • Awarded grant recipients may apply for a Continuation Grant for the following school year by completing a new application that outlines planned changes.

    • Continuation Grants are funded for a maximum of two years.

  • Individual teachers and teaching teams employed by Alvin ISD may apply for grants if they are involved in student instruction.

  • Each grant application must be independent; identical grants will not be accepted.

HINTS

  • Proofread your application.

  • Clearly define the purpose of your project, its benefits to students, and how it will be implemented and evaluated.

  • Specify the number of students/teachers impacted by the grant.

  • Avoid acronyms.

  • Campus field trips, incentive programs, school gardens, and campus projects are a few possibilities.

  • Think outside the box!
