“Snowy Forest,” “Cardinal’s Song,” “Happy Holiday Friends,” Winter Moon,” and “Full of Cheer” are the names of the five pieces of artwork selected for this year’s Superintendent’s Holiday Card Contest.

On Thursday, December 8, the five winning students and their art teachers were bussed to the Alvin ISD Administration Building for a special lunch with Alvin ISD Superintendent Carol Nelson.

This is the first year in a long time that Alvin ISD has held a contest to select their annual Holiday cards.

“We wanted to tap into the spirit of the holidays by giving students the chance to use their imaginations and display their artistic abilities. The contest shines a light on the many talented students in the District, and serves as a wonderful demonstration of their artistry and originality,” shared Superintendent Nelson.

The winning cards were sent to board members, principals, administrators, and community partners. Each winner and their teacher received the printed version of their winning cards and will be recognized by the school board during the December 13 regular board meeting.

“All the submissions this year were absolutely wonderful,” Superintendent Nelson said. “I want to thank the staff and the teachers for your support and helping the students achieve their goals.”
