After 10 years of successfully helping almost 800 at-risk students graduate with their high school diplomas, a major dream is becoming a reality.

Options and Alvin Community College are partnering together to expand the Options program to the college campus.

Options is a small, successful, drop-out recovery program located in Alvin ISD. Options is designed to assist 17-26-year-old students in making progress toward meeting graduation requirements and gaining necessary job skills. Upon completion of their course work, students will not only have a high school diploma but can have the training and skill sets needed for some of the fastest-growing vocational career fields in the current job market through the local community college.

“Our partnership with ACC has always been instrumental in providing our students a pathway to success beyond high school. Now that we have a classroom on the ACC campus, it will provide greater self-efficacy for our students and greater support as they transition into college,” shared Randy Guikema, Options Coordinator. “We are excited for this opportunity as we continue to help our students reclaim their future.”
