On Monday, May 16 and Tuesday, May 17, 2022, Alvin ISD Career and Technical Education students who attend classes at JB Hensler College and Career Academy received their industry certifications in their chosen field. Many other students are still in the process of certification testing.
JB Hensler College and Career Academy Coordinator, Kyle Kettler saluted the CTE students for completing a rigorous training program and were able to become professionally certified in their field.
“The ability to earn industry certifications is one of the many benefits of pursuing a concentration in a CTE program. These certifications testify to students’ preparedness for immediate employment in a globally competitive field, and provide a clear platform to stand out among other job applicants,” Kettler explained.
These students received certifications in Adobe Photoshop, CompTIA Security +, Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Dental Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant, Security Officer Level II, National 911 Telecommunication, Cosmetology Operator License,Barber Operator License, EPA 608 & 609, NCCER Carpentry and HVAC, ServSafe Food Manager, I-CAR Collision, AWS Welding, Toyota and Ford Factory Certifications, Certified Veterinary Assistant and more.
“Our programs have grown so much these last few years.Our Dental Assistant program has a 100% pass rate for the 2nd year in a row and our Certified Medical Assistant pass rate is 10% above the national average,” Kettler said.
The Alvin ISD CTE program accentuates state and national standards by enabling students to gain entry-level employment in high-skill, high-wage jobs and/or continuing their education. Alvin ISD CTE Programs are committed to attracting, developing, and preparing students for diverse careers that reflect current and future industry trends.
