On Friday, November 5, Alvin ISD dedicated the main transportation center located in Alvin in honor of Mr. John Ralph. Mr. Ralph served as the Director of Transportation for 22 years and brought many changes to the department. He was instrumental in modernizing the fleet of buses in Alvin ISD and was an exceptional leader who put student and staff safety first. Mr. Ralph had a passion for serving others as he served in the United States Army, Navy and Coast Guard and was on Alvin City Council for six years.

“We are always proud to honor such amazing employees for their many years of dedication to the district,” Carol Nelson, Superintendent of Alvin ISD shared. “We know Mr. John Ralph’s commitment to Alvin ISD, and his lasting influences, will forever be a part of the transportation team.”

Several district employees who had the pleasure of working with Mr. Ralph attended the ceremony and enjoyed the memories together. Executive Director of Transportation Jeff Dungen shared the history of how Mr. Ralph oversaw the original design of the facility and spoke about the amazing legacy he left.
