On Friday, October 1st, Walt Disney Elementary dedicated the benches located at the front of the school to a special Wildcat. Ross Jarrell attended WDE many years ago. He passed away in 2005 and always wished for a celebration with sprite, cheetos, and a balloon release. His family and many close friends were in attendance to rejoice and share memories of their loved one. Family friends led a special ceremony and spoke about the importance of friendship and making lasting impressions on others. Travis Elliot, one of Ross’ dear friends, built the benches as his Eagle Scout Project and had a plaque made to remember the Wildcat.

WDE students were invited to be a part of the event and even helped with the ceremony, leading a talk about friendship and being kind to others. As the rain began to come down, teachers and staff escorted the students outside where they fulfilled Ross’ wish to eat cheetos, drink sprite, and release balloons in his honor. “One, two, three, WE LOVE YOU ROSS,” shouted WDE guests and students.
