The Annual Alvin ISD Education Foundation Gala was held Saturday, September 18 at South Shore Harbor Resort. The event raised funds for the students, staff, and innovative programs that the Foundation supports thanks to the generosity of the over 250 guests, sponsors and volunteers.

"Celebrity Waiters" added to the fun atmosphere with their decorations and antics. Alvin Community College Administrative Assistant Wendy Del Bello served as the announcer and Bubba Whitton was the auctioneer for the evening.

Generous sponsors made the event possible. The Diamond sponsors were Stantec and Huckabee. Platinum sponsors Gamma Construction, HEB and ISC. Gold Sponsors were Consolidated Property Advisors, Ltd and Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union. Silver sponsors were GPD Group, PerdueBrandonFielder,& Mott, LLP, Imagine Learning, J. Headley Properties, and Walsh Gallegos. Dessert sponsor was Kelsey Seybold, the Social Hour sponsor was Community First ER, the Dinner Wine Sponsor was United Healthcare, and the Photography sponsor was ACU of Texas.

Special thanks to the waiters who created a fun event for their table guests with their costumes and themes. The waiters “worked” for tips that were all designated for the Alvin ISD STEM Bus.

The waiters were Alvin ISD School Board Trustees Cheryl Harris, Cory Scott, Vivian Scheibel as well as Board Vice President Tiffany Wennerstrom, Board Secretary Nicole Tonini and Board President Earl Humbird. Also Manvel High School Principal Aeniqua Flowers and her Associate Principal Quinton Virgil, Rodeo Palms Jr. High principal Tonya Patterson and her Instructional Coach Fernando Hinojosa and Nolan Ryan Principal Dana Green and Assistant Principals Chris Brazzle and Corey DeFelice, Alvin Jr. High Principal Mark Erwin, City of Alvin Parks and Recreation Coordinator Michelle Nesrsta and her husband Michael, and Jackie Caffey Jr. High Principal Tina McCorkle and her Assistant Principal Taesha Brown.
