This past week, 292 Career and Technical Education students received their industry certifications in their chosen field. That number is likely to increase as many other students are still in the process of certification testing.
JB Hensler College and Career Academy Assistant Principal Kyle Kettler saluted the CTE students for completing a rigorous training program and were able to become professionally certified in their field.
“The ability to earn industry certifications is one of the many benefits of pursuing a concentration in a CTE pathway. These certifications testify to students’ preparedness for immediate employment in a globally competitive field, and provide a clear platform to stand out among other job applicants,” Kettler explained.
These students received certificates in Adobe Photoshop, CompTia A+, Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Dental Assistant, Certified Billing and Coding, Security Officers, National 911 Telecommunication, Cosmetology Operator, HVAC, EPA, NCCER, ServSafe Food Manager, Collison Certification, Welding Safety, Toyota and Ford Factory Certification, and more.
“We are proud of the dedication our students have shown in their pursuit of a new career path. As they embark on their next adventure, they will carry confidence in themselves, along with the skills and resources gained from their teachers and staff,” Kettler said.
The Alvin ISD CTE program accentuates state and national standards by enabling students to gain entry-level employment in high-skill, high-wage jobs and/or continuing their education.
