Alvin High School’s Marine Corps Junior ROTC honored twelve students with their version of a signing day to celebrate the students’ next step after graduation. Major Flynn and First Sergeant Garcia stood proud as they spoke about the students’ success throughout the MCJROTC program and noted how pleased they were of all their accomplishments.

Ten students took the oath of enlistment under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel Mai Lee Eskelund from the United States Army Cadet Command.

Congratulations cadets!

“Our cadets have worked hard during their time at Alvin High School and we are excited to see where this next step takes them,” Major Flynn stated.

In addition, Cadet Trenton Parker officially announced he will be attending the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Cadet Parker is also Alvin High School’s Valedictorian for the class of 2021.

Finally, Cadet Joshua Bangilan was awarded a four year US Army ROTC scholarship to Norwich University which just so happens to be Major Flynn’s alma mater.

“It was such an honor to be at the Military signing day where our students took the Oath of Enlistment,” Alvin ISD Board Member Nicole Tonini. “Thanks to Major Flynn and First Sergeant Garcia for their tireless dedication to the MCJROTC program and the students in it. So proud of these seniors who are choosing to serve our great country!”
