Alvin ISD is pleased to announce the six finalists for elementary and secondary Teachers of the Year for 2020-21.
Congratulations to the following teachers:
Elementary

Secondary
Kristen Vollman – Shadow Creek High School Elizabeth Hardig - Harby Jr. High Jennifer Hammond – Alvin High School Shelby Davis – Manvel Jr. High Kelli Gartman – RISE Academy Jessica Jackson – Rodeo Palms Jr. High
These teachers will partake in an interview process before the committee chooses the Alvin ISD Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year. This announcement will take place during the Alvin ISD Employee Recognition Ceremony being held virtually on May 13 at 6:00 pm via Facebook and YouTube. The Paraprofessional of the Year and Rookie Teacher of the Year will also be announced at this time.
The Alvin ISD Employee Recognition Ceremony is a time for the District to recognize the outstanding employees for the 2020-2021 school year. Individual campus Teachers of the Year, Paraprofessionals of the Year, Rookie Teachers of the Year, Principals of the Year, department employees of the year, years of service award winners, and retirees will all be honored during the ceremony.
“Our educators have always gone above and beyond for every student but never more than this year,” said Carol Nelson, Alvin ISD Superintendent. “I am so proud of all these amazing teachers and paras who are such incredible examples of high-quality teaching in Alvin ISD.”
