Traditionally, the Alvin ISD Education Foundation honors the top 20 graduates from Alvin High School, Manvel High School and Shadow Creek High School along with the top two graduates from ASSETS Academy and their most influential educator at the Celebration of Academic Excellence. However, this year, due to Covid 19 issues, the Foundation honored the students and educators at a drive-by celebration.  On Monday evening, May 15 students drove by a cheering crowd that included their most influential educator, Foundation board members and Alvin ISD School Board Trustees and administrators.

“This was a great evening celebrating our students and teachers. Students, educators and parents were appreciative of our effort and of the Celebration,” said David Becker, president of the Alvin ISD Education Foundation.

The students honored from Alvin High School were Valedictorian Jodie Aguirre, Salutatorian Grace Koenig, Sion Jang, Ben Radigan, Payton Neubauer, Amaru Ordóñez-Jacobsen, Olivia Horton, Kearsten Kimbrough, Colby Patterson, Leah Nelson, Julissa Medina, Ashton Taylor, Justin Gana, Dylan McCoy, Cody Kettler, Abbey Shewmake, Shelby Boyd, Lyssa Peltier, Madison Casares and Paige Smith. The ASSETS Academy students that were honored were Valedictorian Jazalyne Soza and Salutatorian Giselle Alvarado.

The students honored from Manvel High School were Valedictorian Ethan Marfil, Salutatorian Dan Returan, Kevin Gonzalez, Tristan Becnel, Mackenzie Kasprzyk, Justin Johnson, Stefanie Catalan, Brionna Boyd, Michael Attathikhun, Ryan Rhodes, Amanda Mason, Hailey Kieu, Rachel Mae Vineyard, San Juana Juarez, Maxine Woods, Belle Oducado, Emily Hooks, Hamza Aziz, Jacob Burch and Khari-Alexis Bing.

The Shadow Creek High School students honored were Valedictorian Preksha Baghela, Salutatorian Nikita Singh, Sajan Dayal, Alex Cessna, Divyaa Cherian, Lekha Surapaneni, Christopher Pham, Nila Shibu, Melinda He, Ami Dongchau, Nathan Ngo, Vishnu Sadagopan, Arveen Adap, Smriti Korampally, Jonathan Nguyen, Deborah Jacob, Christina Lewellyn, Stephen Mgbemeje, Julia Randall and Sabrina Thomas. 

Sponsors of the Celebration of Academic Excellence were the student gift sponsor Stantec, teacher gift sponsor MDL Enterprise, Inc., bronze sponsors Perdue Brandon Attorneys at Law and Imagine Learning. Event sponsors were Alvin Sunrise Rotary, beAed, Chocolate Bayou Community FCU, Community Health Network, Huckabee and Terracon. Strawbridge Studios Inc. was the photo sponsor.
