Meridiana Elementary held their first annual "Rock Your School" event on Friday, September 20th. The event began with an exhilarating kick-off that featured competitive games as well as a spirit competition. Throughout the day, teachers engaged their learners with activities that included breakout boxes to discover literary elements, solving a mission by writing a superhero summary, working on science problems to rescue a princess, pirates counting numbers by walking the plank, a pirate treasure hunt for library resources, and much more! Event organizer Courtney Breitenbach attended the summer conference "Get Your Teach On" were she learned about the "Rock Your School" initiative. The goal is to create an outside the box learning experience so every student gets excited about learning! Our Meridiana staff and students had a truly engaging and exciting day rocking our school.
