With a red carpet laid out, the Alvin ISD Athletics Department honored athletes from around the district at the inaugural AIMS Awards on May 13.
The nominees were chosen not only for their athletic ability, but for their character on and off the field and how well they represent the pillars of AISD Athletics: integrity, servant leadership, commitment and culture.
On top of honoring students, emcee Nate Griffin from Fox 26 News, helped the athletics department honor coaches and staff members who dedicate their time, even their free time off the clock, to Alvin ISD student athletes.
AISD Athletics also presented the Integrity in Leadership Award to Superintendent Carol Nelson for her unwavering support and positive influence on the AISD community. The award will now named after her and officially titled the Carol Nelson Integrity in Leadership Award.
