It was packed house for the annual Alvin ISD Rodeo Art Open House. On Friday, January 19, over 750 visitors strolled through the Alvin ISD Liberty Alumni Hall to look at 540 pieces of western themed art, representing every campus in Alvin ISD. The Liberty Alumni Hall was full of art, music, and food as parents, students, and staff members were amazed by the artwork of our talented students.

The goal of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Competition is to preserve and celebrate western heritage. Throughout the art-making process, AISD art students are taught a wide variety of techniques, industry standards, and exposed to a breadth of resources, while developing their western themed art.

The Alvin ISD Fine Arts Department sent 60 pieces of artwork to NRG, which were judged by the full committee of Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Judges.

The following pieces were chosen by the committee to move on to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Competition and will be on display at the Hayloft Gallery at NRG.
