Judge Swears in Earl and Vivian

On June 13, Alvin ISD board members Earl Humbird and Vivian Scheibel were sworn in after their successful May 2023 election. The official swearing-in ceremony took place at the June Alvin ISD board meeting and was presided over by Judge Mike Merkel, who administered the oath of office.

The Alvin ISD Board of Trustees wasted no time in setting the stage for the district's continued growth and success by appointing new leadership. Earl Humbird, the current board president, was voted as the president of the Alvin ISD Board once again. With his vast experience and dedication to education, Humbird is poised to lead the board towards accomplishing its strategic goals and providing the best educational opportunities for Alvin ISD students.

Joining Humbird are Regan Metoyer-Peterson as vice president and AJ Johnson as secretary. 

The Alvin ISD Board of Trustees is a dedicated group of individuals committed to serving the needs of the community and ensuring the success of each student every day. The remaining board members include Cheryl Harris, Cory Scott, David Selsky, and Vivian Scheibel. Together, they bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and dedication to the table, forming a formidable team dedicated to the progress and advancement of Alvin ISD.
