Everyone was talking and learning about the solar eclipse today! Our science department provided students and staff with resources and the district provided glasses for us to safely view this historic event!

Alvin ISD is excited for our students and staff members to witness the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th. Precautions are being taken and glasses are being provided for every student and staff member. Campuses are prepared to allow students to safely observe the event during the school day.
The safety of our students is always our top priority. If you do not wish to have your child participate, please contact your child's campus.

Alvin ISD junior high students who read books from the Lone Star state reading list were invited to an author event on March 1 at the Heritage Complex. Jessica S. Olson, author of A Forgery of Roses, answered student questions and signed books and/or bookmarks for each student. Students ate pizza and Jeremiah's Italian Ice, then had the opportunity to visit the Alvin ISD STEM Bus and other Makerspace stations supplied by the district librarians.
