The mission of the Alvin ISD secondary visual art department is to provide opportunities for hands-on visual problem solving which enables our students to embody strategies for innovation as well as gain a love for thoughtful observation of their complex world.
Each Alvin ISD school employs state-certified art specialists and many are noteworthy practicing artists. Our secondary programs are designed to mirror college visual arts programs in that students are able to concentrate on 2-D and 3-D artmaking processes and materials of their interest, after completing pre-requisite coursework. Each campus provides student exhibition and contest opportunities. Visit your campus art teacher’s website to learn more about visual art opportunities at your school.
