Safety & Security
Keeping Our Students and Staff Safe
At Alvin ISD, we are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our students, staff, and visitors. To support this commitment, we have a comprehensive emergency operations plan that outlines procedures for prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery in the event of natural or human-caused emergencies.
Our plan is regularly updated, reviewed by district staff and emergency response personnel, and shared with campus and department teams to ensure preparedness. It establishes clear roles, chains of command, and action steps to take in an emergency, ensuring that our staff and students are ready to respond effectively.
As part of our safety measures, each campus conducts regular drills throughout the year, including fire, evacuation, reverse evacuation, exterior lockdown, full lockdown, shelter-in-place, and severe weather drills. These exercises help ensure that students and staff are familiar with emergency procedures and can respond appropriately.
Additionally, each campus has a designated safety coordinator who conducts routine safety and security checks to help maintain a secure learning environment. At Alvin ISD, the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority.
