Student Council Committees

Iowa Colony's Student Council offers 8 committees for members to join. These committees help earn you volunteer hours if you are a paid member. The committees are the following:

DASH (Drugs, Alcohol, Safety & Health): Involved in promoting substance safety, health safeness and more. In charge of Red Ribbon Week, other DASH related events and helping raise awareness to keep ICHS students safe and aware of DASH issues.

Energy & Environment: Involved in building the environment, saving energy and preserving ICHS. This includes building, maintaining garden, ICHS greens, etc.

Campus Clean up: Involved in helping clean up after school hours. Counting towards community service while helping keep ICHS clean.

SPIRIT/Pride & Patriotism: Involved with creating posters for spirit days, organizing, designing spirit or other important events. Followed by raising pride, spirit and patriotism on campus.

Budget and Fundraising: In charge of researching and deciding on reasonable: materials, supply, products and other needed things for student council in order of maintaining budget. Also in charge of creating or coming up with ideas to fundraise/raise money for student council. This will also include outreaching in sponsorships.

Dance: In charge of coming up with ideas for formals, or dances as well as volunteering in building, decorating and designing for said events.

Sportsmanship: In charge of building, creating or exchanging gifts with opposing schools student council at sports games in order of creating good sportsmanship with other schools.

Announcements: If selected to do announcements after required tryouts, they much be active in student council, and be present in the morning during 2nd period with teachers permission to do announcements for ICHS campus.
